A Legacy of Performing Arts
Erected in 1949 by former owner, Charles A. B. Heinze, and recently renovated in 2017 by the Kennedy Family, the Playhouse at Allenberry continues to provide entertaining live plays for our guests to honor our long-standing tradition of family entertainment.
For over 70 years, the Playhouse has produced over 600 productions and has seen thousands of actors, dancers, musicians, directors, designers, and technicians produce an unrivaled body of theatrical work spanning across a wide range of genres. The Playhouse once hosted a young John Travolta in 1971, and Shirley Jones during a sold out one-week engagement in 1994. Today, our playhouse continues its tradition of showcasing special local theatre talent through a variety of productions.
