Vintage American Flag
June 25th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Looking for a rustic design to adorn your walls, just in time for Independence Day? Try this Vintage American Flag instruction from Pinot’s Palette, just in time for the holiday.
Going through three iterations from as early as 1775, the symbolism of the American flag well-known. The 50 stars in the upper left corner represent the 50 states that make up our great country. The current form you see was adopted as late as 1960 when, in back-to-back years, Alaska and Hawaii were added as states. The 13 stripes represent the original colonies that declared independence from Great Britain in the 1700s.
Learn how to bring a bit of rustic distress to your painting of our country’s most prominent symbol when you sign up for this patriotic Paint & Sip event.
July 16th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Jumpstart your painting career with a night of art and wine at Allenberry Resort.
Reimagine the signature structure of the city of lights as a vertical flower garden, in an interesting take on the Paris’ Eiffel Tower. “Eiffel Flowers” is an instructional class from Pinot’s Palette meant to teach beginning painting techniques, like the basics of color and brush strokes, but also will help you refine tiny details as you emphasize the numerous flower buds that dot the painting.
Paint a unique, colorful version of the Eiffel Tower while you sip from our fine selection of wine from West Coast and European vintners.
Take your painting home as a memory of your first step to a budding painting hobby or career.
Van Gogh’s “Almond Blossoms”
August 13th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Follow in the brush strokes of great Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh struggled financially, with fame eluding both him and his works, during the second half of the 1800s during which he lived. The 20th century saw a posthumous rise in both the popularity of his works and their prices at art auctions.
Van Gogh’s “Almond Blossoms” was an outburst of joy at the time it was painted, having just found out his brother, Theo, had named his son after the famous painter. This instruction aims to help you better understand the bright colors, contours, and unique brushwork signature of Van Gogh, while still providing an entertaining class accessible enough for beginning artists. The class will be instructed by Jeremy Slagle, our resident scenic artist at The Playhouse at Allenberry.
