"Always...Patsy Cline" pays musical homage to country singer Patsy Cline. The musical focuses on the unlikely friendship that began in 1961 between Cline and Louise Seger, a fan who lived in Houston. The show develops, as does the friendship, from letters the two exchanged until Cline's death. This intimate musical weaves its story around 27 of Cline's best-known songs, which include I Fall to Pieces, Crazy, Your Cheatin' Heart, Walkin' After Midnight, and Sweet Dreams.

Always Patsy Cline

FROM THE DIRECTOR

Howdy Everybody!

Welcome to the beginning of our fall season here at Allenberry Resort Inn and Playhouse! As you have come to expect, we are continuing to offer professional theatre with a personal touch to the central Pennsylvania region. It is always a pleasure to meet and get to know the many friendly faces that walk through our doors as our seasons unfold. To old and new theatre goers alike, let me take this moment to thank you for supporting live theatre.

Always…Patsy Cline falls right into place with what we do here as a company. Originally named the First Lady of country music, Patsy was born Virginia Patterson Hensley, September 8, 1932, in Virginia. Patsy was a fire cracker and very much devoted to her music. She quit school at fifteen to work in a drug store to help support her single mother and younger siblings. Her mother, in return, dedicated her spare time to help Patsy’s dream come true. Without her mother’s help and Patsy’s amazing drive, we might never have had the chance to fall in love with this country music icon.

Our leading ladies have given their all to breathe life into the legend that is Patsy Cline. From long rehearsals, studying dialogue and music long into the night, and relentlessly striving to capture the heart of Patsy Cline’s classic sound these artists have devoted their talents to this memorable production. I am lucky to have them as a cast.

As many of you may or may not know, this marks my Allenberry debut as a director. I would like to take the time to thank everyone involved with this process, especially the Heinze family and my dear friend Claude Giroux. Thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity.

Next on our main stage, you’ll see another original Christmas story penned this year by Jackie Heinze. Santa’s Christmas in the Country promises to be a wonderful way to celebrate family and the true meaning of Christmas.

We personally invite you to check out the rest of our 2008 season and the sensational 2009 season we have planned for you that will include our Murder Mystery Weekend Lights Camera…Murder, The King and I, Ring of Fire: The Johnny Cash Musical, and the central Pennsylvania premiere of The Producers!

Enjoy the Show!
Roque Berlanga
Director/ Artistic Manager
