Assistant Technical Director/Master Carpenter
Allenberry Playhouse & Conservatory- Boiling Springs, PA
Allenberry Playhouse & Conservatory is Celebrating its 64th season producing the highest quality
theatre in Central Pennsylvania. We are a regional stock theatre nestled in Boiling
Springs, PA situated on the beautiful Allenberry Resort Inn. We are currently
accepting applications for the Resident Assistant Technical Director/Master Carpenter for our 2013
season.
Duties And Responsibilities:
The Assistant Technical Director/Master Carpenter is responsible for assisting in the engineering,
construction, installation, and strike of all scenic elements for the 2013 Season.
The position requires a strong organizational background, excellent
communication/interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task with a great
attention to detail.
Responsibilities Include:
*Engineering For Scenic Construction
*Shop and Scenery maintenance. This includes repair of equipment and daily
cleaning of the shop.
* Maintenance of shop tools, equipment and stock.
* Maintain accurate shop inventory of all stock, tools and equipment.
* Ensure that shops and other technical spaces are cleaned and orderly at the end
of work periods.
*Construction and preparation of all scenic elements for the 2013 season.
* Participation in all assigned duties during all technical and dress rehearsals.
* Serve on all assigned running, changeover and final strike crews
*Shop and On-Site Crew Training
* Serve in an advisory position to shop staff and apprentices.
* Working closely with the Technical Director to ensure timely and complete
construction of all scenic elements.
* Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the shop and theatre, including the
house and dressing rooms when they are affected by construction or load in.
Requirements:
*Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
*Must be able to climb ladders.
*Perform all duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, the Technical Director.
*Should have strong leadership skills, and be able to run the shop effectively
when TD is not on the floor.
*Supervise a shop crew of 2 with Apprentices on a rotating schedule.
*Mastery of set construction, fabrication and maintenance techniques.
*Proficiency In Industry Software
* Preferred 3 years professional experience or equivalent.
* Excellent personal, organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to motivate, manage and coordinate staff members of varying skill levels.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Rigging experience is a plus.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Welding and Theatrical Rigging skills.
*Own car preferred.

Costume Designer/Shop Manager

Manager for our 2013 season.
Duties And Responsibilities:
The Costume Designer/Shop Manager is responsible for the realization,
engineering, construction, installation, and strike of all costume elements for the
2013 Season. The position requires a strong organizational background, excellent
communication/interpersonal skills, strong design and construction skills, and
the ability to multi-task with a great attention to detail.
Responsibilities Include:
* Manage all space within the assigned area of costuming.
* Complete and timely design and construction of all costume pieces for all main
stage and Conservatory shows.
* Creation of designs by working with stock inventory when possible.
* Creation and presentation of design sketches, rendering and all other necessary
information per the deadline schedule, after collaboration with Director of each
production.
* The acquisition and creation of all costume elements under the Supervision of
Production Manager.
* Serve as Costume Designer/Shop Manager for all costume designs providing personal hands-on assistance and supervision to shop hands.

* Safety Oversight with Production Manager

* Serve in an advisory position to First Hand for a consistent execution of design.
* Working closely with the Production Manager, Directors, Scenic Designer, and

Requirements:
*Perform all duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, the Production

*Well-established skills in handling budgets and build schedules

Master Electrician

The Master Electrician is responsible for:

*Responsible for hanging, circuiting, focusing, striking, and maintenance of all lighting designs
*Manage, maintain and operate performance related electrics systems and equipment to ensure the timely and accurate realization of all lighting elements.
* Maintenance of all on-site electrical equipment
* Maintain active inventory
*Supervise all seasonal staff in build, load-in, run and strike.
*Communicate with lighting designers in order to facilitate designs.
*Attend production and electrics department related meetings as necessary.
*Estimate feasibility and costs of lighting designs.
*Work with all Production Manager to set work schedule on stage and in shops.
*Attend all technical, dress and lighting rehearsals.
*Maintain clean and safe workspace.
*Aid in sound and media set up as needed.

Requirements:
*Excellent track record in executing designer's vision through execution of their plots.
*Minimum Bachelors Degree in Technical Theatre or equivalent experience.
*Minimum 5 years experience in theatre electrics.
*Effective communication with all levels of staff.
*Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment.
*Hands on experience with moving lights, scrollers, DMX controlled lights.
*Familiarity with ETC Element Boards.
*Proficiency in either VectorWorks or AutoCAD software.
*Proficiency in Lightwright software.
*Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb tall ladders
*Must have significant experience in hanging and focusing complex shows and supervision of electrics crew
*Own car prefered

* Excellent skill in properties construction and modification techniques.
* Established track record in executing designers needs through construction,
shopping and/or borrowing.
* Minimal 1-2 years experience in the costume construction field, or college
equivalent.

* Maintain active inventory of all equipment.
*Assist Resort staff in set up and strike of resort functions when necessary.
*Attend production and audio department related meetings as necessary.
*Estimate feasibility and costs of audio designs
*Work with Production Manager to set work schedule
*Attend all technical, dress and audio rehearsals
*Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Requirements:
*Excellent track record in executing designs in a timely fashion.
*Extensive knowledge and experience in live mixing on digital and analogue consoles.
*Experience with Yamaha LS9.
*Effective navigation of signal drop
*Effective use of time and resources.
*Background in creating and pulling sound effects.
*Minimum Bachelors Degree in Technical Theatre or equivalent experience
*Minimum 5 years experience in Theatrical Audio or equivalent
*Effective communication with all levels of staff
*Extensive knowledge of audio equipment
*Hands on experience with Wireless Microphones.
*Familiarity with Microphone Repair
*Proficiency in Q Lab
*Proficiency with Macintosh and Windows based computers
*Ability to read music well
*Music composition skills and recording abilities preferred
*Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb tall ladders
*Must have significant experience in mixing with live bands on stage, or in a pit.

Allenberry Playhouse is currently looking for an enthusiastic stage management intern for our 2013 season. The stage management intern will work directly with the stage management team to carry out all rehearsal and performance needs for our 2013 mainstage productions. Our stage management intern must have a quality driven, hands-on approach with a desire to learn and grow in their field.
Requirements:
*Perform all duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, the Production Stage Manager.
These duties shall include, but are not limited to assisting in the rehearsal process and serving on run crew for all 2013 mainstage and APTC performances.
*Generate paperwork essential to the execution of our 2013 productions.
*Assist in all changeover and strike processes performing duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

The Wardrobe Supervisor/Stitcher is responsible for the assisting in the

Responsibilities Include:
The Wardrobe Supervisor is responsible for:
* Assist in the sewing, construction, patterning and alterations of all costumes;
* Assisting in the organization of costume shop and maintenance of equipment
during season;
* Assist in the construction, pulling, or borrowing of costumes to assure
execution of all costume plots in cooperation with designer(s) for all main stage
and children’s theatre productions;
* Supervise and execute the laundering, cleaning, repair, restocking and return of
above mentioned materials;
* Provide expertise and advise in areas of hairstyle, wigs and makeup;
* Coordination fitting schedules with Stage Managers.
* Participate in all load-ins and strikes;
* Creation of inventory list at the end of season;
* Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the shop and theatre, including the
house and dressing rooms when they are affected by construction or load in.

Duties And Responsibilities:
The Company Management/FOH Intern is responsible for the assisting in the company management and front of house management for all shows on the main-stage and conservatory in the 2013 season under the supervision of the Managing Director and Production Stage Manager. The position requires a strong organizational background, excellent communication/interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task with a great attention to detail.
Responsibilities Include:
The Sound Designer/Engineer is responsible for:
* Complete all duties assigned by the immediate supervisors, Managing Director, Production Stage Manager.
This internship will be based around all aspects of Company Management and Front Of House Management. You will get hands on experience within these two fields as well as volunteer coordination.
Requirements:
Knowledge of Windows based and Macintosh based computers a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite a must.
Own Car and Valid Drivers License a Plus
